A MAJOR road in Carlisle is closed following an accident.
Police are diverting traffic away from the A7 Kingstown Road following the incident.
A statement from Cumbria Police has yet to be issued but it appears the crash involved just one car - a grey Vauxhall Insignia.
It is not clear whether anyone was hurt.
The road is closed in both directions between the Parkhouse Road and the Carlisle North motorway junction while investigations are carried out.
Diversions are in operation through the the Kingstown Industrial Estate.
