NHS staff wore their pyjamas to work to raise awareness of getting up and active while in hospital.
The campaign, which is being promoted across social media, aims to encourage patients to get out of their nightware each day to avoid the potential negative impact of being bed-bound.
North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust and Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) have joined forces in a bid to end what has been dubbed 'PJ paralysis'.
The Pyjama Parade held by staff at Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary aimed to highlight the campaign in a fun way.
Barbara Pinguey, specialist physiotherapist at the North Cumbria trust, said: “By getting up, dressed and moving, patients can speed up their recovery, get home sooner and maintain their normal routines.
“We are spreading the word with our staff by asking them to make pledges which will be shared on our social media pages.”
To follow the campaign on social media use the #endPJparalysis hashtag.
