NO it's not the Alps. This breathtaking film was captured on the snow-capped Cumbrian fells.

The near two-minute film, which has had nearly 60,000 views on social media, features some dramatic scenery from one of the areas most iconic mountains: Helvellyn.

It was produced by Rupert Bonington - son of famous mountaineer Sir Chris Bonington - and photographer and filmmaker James Appleton, who both live in Keswick.

The pair set out to tackle the mountain, which is the third highest peak in both England and the Lake District, on Friday.

Taking it in turns, the promo was filmed with a drone and handheld camera and sees them running effortlessly up Striding Edge with the view of Red Tarn between that and Swirral Edge.

It took them just two hours to run the 10-mile distance with a near 1,000m ascent and, including filming, their shoot took about three-and-a half hours, with additional time to edit it.

The idea behind it was to market Rupert's Lake District-based, sports nutrition business Mountain Fuel.

"We both enjoy running. James is more of an elite runner than myself. I've got a little bit of it in the blood. It's just confidence.

"We love what we do and that's our office, going out and playing in the hills," he said.

"We're both fell runners and we're both experienced runners.

"We live and breathe what we do, that's the best way to show people your product."

Rupert, 47, has grown up in the outdoors but it's only in the last few years since he got back into running.

He added: "I'm very passionate about the Lake District and I love to show the Lake District off and get more people to come here, but at the same time we want to show people the right gear to wear."

Mountain Fuel produces powder based drinks for runners of all abilities but particularly endurance runners, which aim to improve sustained energy release as well as providing hydration.

The film is one of a string of running films they are making based around the seasons.
