Firefighters have dealt with a blaze in a town centre property.

They were called to a building on fire in Water Street, Wigton.

The alarm was raised at about 3.20pm today.

No details about the building have been disclosed, but it was a 10-metre by 30-metre structure.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters went inside to put out the blaze.

They also dismantled a kiln and took it outside to be cooled.

Debris was then cleared. Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour.
