A MAN was rescued from a Cumbrian fell after suffering a heart attack while out walking.
The 66-year-old was flown to hospital in Carlisle following a joint rescue effort by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team and the Great North Air Ambulance on Blease Fell near Threlkeld.
The man, who lives in Newcastle, had collapsed with chest pain at 2pm yesterday. He was treated at the scene by an air ambulance doctor before being flown to the specialist heart centre at the Cumberland Infirmary.
His condition was said to be life-threatening.
