A MOTORIST who crashed in Maryport was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
The 21-year-old escaped without any serious injuries following Friday night's crash.
The man, who is from the Maryport area, was driving a red Peugeot 107 on Senhouse Street when the crash happened just after 10.30pm.
Police say the driver appeared to lose control of the car and crashed into bollards on either side of the road. The car then became lodged between a wall and some bollards.
Police, fire and ambulance services attended.
A spokesman from the police said: "He was not injured as such, he was just stuck in there."
Firefighters released the driver from the car and then used a winch to pull the car free.
The driver was taken to West Cumberland Hospital, in Whitehaven, for a check-up but police say he had no significant injuries.
On Saturday morning police said he was helping them with their enquiries.
