A SCHOOL house master will go on trial next year after denying a string of sexual assault allegations.

The Rev Christopher Griffin appeared at Carlisle Crown Court in front of Judge Peter Davies to deny six counts of sexual assault.

The alleged victims are said to be two males aged over 16 years. The charges relate to incidents which, it is alleged, occurred between June, 2015, and March this year.

It is alleged Griffin, 57, touched or stroked the feet of his victims.

A trial is due to start at the crown court on April 18 next year. It is estimated this will last three to four days.

In the meantime Griffin - who formerly lived in Sedbergh but whose address is now given as Dial Hill Road, Clevedon, Somerset - was remanded on conditional bail by Judge Davies.
