Thieves made off with large quantities of cash after breaking into a Cumbrian rugby club.
The criminals struck Silloth Rugby Club sometime between just after midnight and 8.30am on Tuesday - just hours after the town's successful carnival celebrations.
Some of the money stolen had been raised for charity and a collection was in coins.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
