A man has told a court how he was threatened with a Taser and a knife during a night time robbery at his Carlisle home.

Victim Frank Richey gave evidence at the city's crown court today and described how two hooded men, dressed in dark clothing, burst into his terraced house in the early hours of January 13.

"I got the Taser shoved in my face and threatened with a knife," he said.

His home was ransacked and belongings - including cash, a wallet and two mobile phones - were stolen.

The two robbers were chased away by one of Mr Richey's dogs.

It is alleged that Carlisle men Carl Stephen Pattie, 28 and 34-year-old Mark Anthony William Perrett were the people responsible for the crime.

However, Pattie, of Botcherby Avenue and Perrett, of Borland Avenue, have each pleaded not guilty to a charge of robbery. Perrett also denies possessing a disguised firearm.

The trial continues.
