A jury has unanimously cleared a woman who was accused of ill-treating an elderly care home resident.
Philippa Hodgson, 21, went on trial at Carlisle Crown Court this week.
She strenuously denied two alleged incidents at the Rosecroft Residential Home, in Workington.
These were said to have taken place on separate dates during January last year and involved frail dementia sufferer Nora Hall.
The case was brought after a whistleblower came forward and made allegations against Miss Hodgson - a care worker in the home at that time.
But today (FRI) a jury of seven men and five women, having heard all evidence during a three-day trial, returned unanimous not guilty verdicts.
Miss Hodgson, of John Street, Maryport, was immediately discharged from the crown court dock by Judge Peter Hughes QC.
Judge Hughes told the jury he "entirely agreed" with the verdicts.
During the trial, jurors heard Mrs Hall, a woman aged in her 80s at the time of the alleged ill treatment, had since passed away.
