A CAR was left on its roof following a crash on one of Cumbria's busiest roads.

The white Suzuki Swift overturned following a collision with a Citroen DS5 on the A595 at Clints Brow, near Egremont, at 8am.

The driver, a 48-year-old woman from nearby Beckermet, suffered minor injuries.

A 58-year-old man from Holmrook who was driving the Citroen was not reported to be injured.

An ambulance was called to the scene and Highways attended to clear the debris from the road which was partially blocked.

Traffic between Whitehaven and Gosforth was affected for about an hour and a half before the incident was cleared.
