A man in his 40s was inside his house when two burglars smashed windows, climbed inside and proceeded to damage his belongings.

Police are now investigating the burglary which occurred at about 5.45pm on Saturday at Margaret Creighton Gardens, St Aidans, Carlisle.

One of the offenders was a white man, aged between 20 and 28. He had a muscular build, approximately 5ft 7in or 8in height, with light coloured hair. He was wearing a dark grey hooded top, and light grey jogging bottoms.

The other man can only be described as having dark hair.

Police are looking for witnesses to this offence and for any member of the public to identify any offenders.

Police are also investigating a separate burglary where offenders smashed through a window of a property on Raffles Avenue sometime between 2pm and 8pm on Friday.

Cumbria Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed people hanging around.
