Firefighters were called out to rescue to young boys who had got stuck in a river.
Crews from both of Carlisle's fire stations were needed to help the boys, 11 and 12, after they got into difficulties in the river Caldew in the Denton Holme area of the city.
It is believed the boys had been swimming and got stuck in a salmon trap, prompting the emergency response. Neither were hurt, according to a spokesman from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
The rescue operation in the Holmehead area was sprung into action around 7pm with crews completing the call-out around 8.30pm (video courtesy of Patrick Shovlin) .
Crews used dry suits, swift water rescue gear and inflatable equipment to get the boys to safety.
The spokesman added: "At this time we would like to remind people of the dangers of swimming in open water."
