Firefighters tackle motorway car blaze near Carlisle

Firefighters dealt with a car blaze close to junction 44 of the M6 near Carlisle this afternoon.

The fire, 300 yards from the junction, caused smoke to blow across the motorway, resulting in slow traffic in the area.

The Land Rover was found to be well alight when fire crews from Carlisle and Longtown arrived at the scene at about 3pm.
