Emergency services recover body from Lake District

Police and mountain rescue teams searching for a missing walker have found a body.

Cumbria police say the body was recovered near Brown Cove Crags, on the west side of Helvellyn.

The body was found at around 6.50pm yesterday.

Emergency services had been searching for walker Richard Hayne, 61, from Northamptonshire, who went missing from Glenridding on Wednesday morning.

Mr Hayne’s next of kin have been informed.
