Cumbrian MP Jamie Reed has Twitter account hacked

Cumbrian MP Jamie Reed has found himself giving out advice to dieters.

Mr Reed, who represents Copeland, had his Twitter account hacked today.

As a result, several tweets went out under his name advertising a “fat burner by Dr Oz” and inviting people to click on a link.

However, Mr Reid took to the micro-blogging site to inform people that his account had been hacked.

In one tweet he said: “Apologies for the hacked account all. Diet advice? Oh, the irony.”


Later he added: “Actually, here's some diet advice: Eat less and exercise more.

I have no idea if Dr Oz agrees. I am now producing a paper for the Lancet.”
