Counter-terrorism raids in Cumbria after police officer's murder

Counter-terrorism officers are today carrying out searches in Cumbria connected to the murder of a Northern Irish police officer.
Greater Manchester Police released a statement this morning saying: "Officers from the North West Counter-Terrorism Unit and Cumbria Constabulary are today, Monday, 26 November 2012, assisting Police Service Northern Ireland in executing a number of searches in Cumbria.
"The search activity is connected to an ongoing PSNI investigation into the murder of PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr in April 2011 and linked incidents. There are no further details at this time."
Constable Kerr was killed on April 2, 2011, in Omagh, County Tyrone.
