Carlisle drug dealer jailed

A Carlisle drug dealer has been sent to prison for three years and two months.

Alistair Pape, 31, was first arrested on September 5 last year after police raided his home in Botcherby Avenue and found £288-worth of heroin.

Six days later he was arrested again after being caught on the street with cannabis and nearly £1,400-worth of buprenorphin, a synthetic alternative to opiate drugs.

Four months later, while on bail, he was arrested again - this time after being caught with 28 valium tablets while "staggering about" in Botchergate.

At the city's Crown Court he pleaded guilty to possessing the heroin and buprenorphin with intent to supply them and possessing the cannabis and valium for his own use.
