Carlisle driver clocked at 132mph - court

A motorist has admitted driving dangerously at up to 132mph on the M74 near Gretna.

Anthony Nixon, of Hayton Road, Harraby, Carlisle, also pleaded guilty to driving without lights at up to 85mph on adjoining roads.

Dumfries court heard he drove at up to 132mph between Guardsmill at Gretna and Kirkpatrick-Fleming in December.

He undertook a car before turning off the motorway before going twice round a roundabout before colliding with it.

At one point Nixon switched off his lights while travelling at 85mph.

Sentence was deferred for background reports until May 14.
