BUSINESSES in Carlisle can take advantage of free training on social media and equality issues.
Barr Construction is hosting two workshops at the Civic Centre in partnership with Carlisle City Council.
The first, from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday, deals with social media while the following Wednesday there is a session on equality and diversity from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Barr Construction is the main contractor for the new Sainsbury’s superstore in Caldewgate, Carlisle.
Alistair Logan, its sustainable development manager, said: “Whenever we work on a major project with Sainsbury’s we aim to make a contribution back to the community.
“In this instance, we have organised, with support from the council, two workshops for local businesses.
“The two topics – social media and equality and diversity – are important issues for businesses.”
Councillor Colin Glover, deputy leader of the city council and portfolio holder for economy and enterprise, said: “The training is a brilliant opportunity for local businesses to learn more about two important topics.
“They will be provided free of charge.”
