One of Carlisle’s most iconic city centre department stores, Hoopers, is to close after it failed to turn around losses running into six figures.
Have your say
Tim, once more all i read is utter rot. If you consider a Local Plan to be lasissez faire god help all of us. I assume you have never had to put in a planning application? The planning rules and guidance are substantially higher than they have ever been in the past. If complicated central planning was the solution, the place would be flourishing.Nice blame of Fatcher though. Predictable and somewhat lazy though.
Doris (10 May). Calm down dear, there's no need to SHOUT. I'm sorry to inform you of this but County Store certainly was in the Lanes and they did have an electrical department. I bought a television and VCR there in the 80's. They sold a range of electrical goods, including white goods, on the 1st floor.
ROYS LETTER 10TH MAY 2012,COUNTY STORE ELECTRICAL STORE WAS NEVER IN THE LANES,IT WAS ON BOTCHERGATE, I WORKED THERE.
