CARLISLE chartered accountant Armstrong Watson has acquired Robertshaw Myers, an established accountancy firm in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The move makes Armstrong Watson, which already had an office in Skipton, the largest chartered accountant and financial adviser in the area.

Robertshaw Myers dates from 1890. Its 18 staff and five partners joined Armstrong Watson last week.

The combined team in Skipton is headed by Michael Bottomley, managing partner of Robertshaw Myers, supported by Armstrong Watson’s Skipton operational director Robert Whitehead.

Armstrong Watson’s managing partner, Paul Dickson, said: “Robertshaw Myers is an incredibly-well-respected firm and there was a clear synergy with how we both approached our services to clients.

“We will have a strengthened team focused on providing private individuals, fast-growing start ups and established businesses with the right financial advice.”

Armstrong Watson now has 400 employees across 14 offices.
