Allerdale firms get chance to show off products for free

Businesses across Allerdale get the chance to tout their products and services at a free event in Cockermouth next Thursday.

Allerdale Business Connections is behind the session, which it describes as a “Christmas networking and showcase event”.

Participants will be greeted with a glass of bubbly to celebrate the start of the festive season.

They will then go into an interactive session – ‘New Year resolutions for business success’ – led by Catherine Eve, of Core Training.

She said: “People look to January for a fresh start, but there’s no reason why you can’t start making positive changes right now, getting ahead for 2013.

“The whole event should leave people feeling uplifted and motivated for the busy Christmas period and right through 2013.”

The session is at the Saints Rooms, opposite All Saints Church, from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Shelly Gambles, business support manager at Britain’s Energy Coast, said: “Allerdale Business Connections is a networking programme developed with funding from Allerdale council.

“It fosters the sharing of resources, knowledge and ideas between businesses in our borough and this is our third event since the September launch.

“A diverse mix of businesses from across the borough are taking part in the showcase including Botanic Arts, Cherry Tree Fashion and Chimney Sheep.

“And, perfect for Christmas, are local food and drink-related businesses too such as the Cockermouth Sweet Shop, Judi Bakes, Classic Desserts and Carvetii Coffee.”

She added: “Feedback from our first two events told us people like gathering nuggets of new information and ideas to stimulate their businesses.

“That’s why we invited Catherine Eve give us all a boost for the New Year with some great tips on setting goals.”

All businesses in Allerdale are welcome.
