A NEW Subway sandwich restaurant will open in Carlisle next week.

The eatery will be on London Road, opposite St Nicholas Gate Retail Park.

It has been brought to the area by franchisees Mark and Simon Ledwick.

Simon Ledwick said: “I am extremely proud to be opening another store next week to meet the growing demand within the area, London Road is a fantastic location in a new part of Carlisle for the Subway brand.

"I’m looking forward to welcoming the local community and offering nutritious food options and employment opportunities too. The support shown by local neighbourhoods over the years has been overwhelming and has enabled us to continue to open stores in new areas – I’m excited to welcome the community around London Road to the official store opening next week.”

Subway's regional development agent Neil Denny said: “The Subway brand is made up of hundreds of local entrepreneurs, like Mark and Simon, who have worked hard to build up their businesses in the community, creating jobs for local people. We have no doubt that the store will be a great success.”

Subway is the world’s largest specialist sandwich provider with over 2,400 stores across the UK and Ireland.

This will be the fifth Subway in Carlisle. Two are in the city centre - in Market Street and Lowther Street, while the others are in Botchergate and Shaddongate.
