Bicycle fall woman airlifted to Preston hospital

A cyclist who fell from her bike in the Lake District has been flown to hospital.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to Buttermere at 12.30pm today after a report that a female had come off her bike.

The woman, from Cheshire, was assessed by paramedics and then airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital.

Her condition was said to be serious but stable.
