Appeal after woman assaulted and robbed in Cumbria

A woman has been attacked and robbed by two men in Cockermouth.

The victim was on her own in Low Road Close, Cockermouth, when she was assaulted and had her purse stolen at about 8.20pm on Boxing Day.

Her attackers were described as white men.

One was aged 40, of stocky build, with a bald head and wearing a dark green tracksuit. He was riding a bike.

His accomplice was much younger, believed to be about 16, about 5ft 10in, and slim with short dark hair. He was wearing a tracksuit.

Police investigating the incident want anyone who was in the area, or who recognises the suspects’ description, to contact them at CID by calling 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
