A woman who handled £500 of stolen cash and stole two bottles of Gordon's pink gin has been banned from a raft of shops.

Kimberley Joanne Bennewith, 30, of George Street, Whitehaven, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington.

She pleaded guilty to dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of the money in Whitehaven on June 25.

She also admitted stealing the gin, worth a total of £29.98, from B&M in Whitehaven on September 24.

Bennewith was given a three-year criminal behaviour order, banning her from entering any premises on the Workington and Whitehaven Shopwatch schemes.

She was also given a two-month curfew, from 6pm to 6am, and must pay £264.99 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
