TWO separate incidents on the M6 have caused heavy delays for motorists this evening.
A vehicle has hit the main carriageway on the M6 northbound between junctions 38 at Tebay and 39 at Shap.
Police are on the scene and have moved the vehicle onto the hard shoulder.
Heavy and slow-moving traffic remains following the incident.
A multiple vehicle collision has also closed part of the M6.
The M6 southbound between junctions 26 and 25 has been closed following the crash.
Highways England warn a diversion is in place via the M58 west to junction three, the A570 south and then the A580 east to junction 23.
The route is marked out with a yellow square symbol on road signs.
Officers are on the scene to clear the incident.
