Cumbria could play home to another celebrity wedding, as reports circulate that former royal butler Paul Burrell is to marry his boyfriend in the Lake District.

The "rock" of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, will tie the knot with his partner at a ceremony in the Lake District, The Sun newspaper claimed.

It is the first time the 58-year-old, who separated from wife Maria last year, has publicly confirmed he is in a gay relationship.

According to reports, his groom-to-be is lawyer and one-time business partner Graham Cooper.

The former butler was not at the florist he owns in Farndon, Cheshire, yesterday morning to respond to press inquries.

Mr Burrell became a trusted confidant to Diana until her death in 1997.

She once referred to him as "my rock" and left him £50,000 in her will.

Following her fatal car accident in a Parisian tunnel, Mr Burrell penned a number of tell-all books about life within the royal household.

A string of reality TV appearances followed, including stints on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! And Celebrity Big Brother.
