A woman suffered a puncture wound to her leg after being bitten by a dog in Carlisle.
The incident happened by the park area near The Bay, Denton Holme, when the women, who was walking a dog herself, came into contact with other dogs.
She crossed paths with a person who had a greyhound on a lead and a springer spaniel off the lead.
"As they crossed paths the greyhound dog has gone to bite the victim's dog, missed, and caught the victim's upper leg," a police spokesman said.
It happened about 9.25am on June 20.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or people with information to contact them on 101.
