A 22-year-old pedestrian is in hospital in Newcastle after he was hurt in a collision with a delivery van in Carlisle.
The man from Longtown was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle following the incident in Brunthill Road yesterday.
It happened near the junction with Kingstown Broadway.
Cumbria Police state there was a collision between the pedestrian and a DHL delivery van at around 5.30.
The van was being driven by a 66-year-old man from Carlisle, who was not hurt.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 and ask for details to be passed to PC 2265.
