Singer-songwriter Paloma Faith is to perform at Carlisle Racecourse - the latest in a growing galaxy of stars to come to the venue.

The hugely popular performer - whose Number 1 Album "The Architect" has won widespread acclaim - will be the headline act for an open air concert planned for July 7.

The high-profile event is the latest offering from The Jockey Club Live and Carlisle Racecourse, whose previous concerts have featured the likes of Jools Holland, Jess Glynne, Will Young, and Madness.

Commenting on her visit to Carlisle, Paloma said: "I can’t wait to perform at Carlisle Racecourse this summer for the first time.

"I love summertime and I love outdoor shows so to be able to perform on a - hopefully - sunny evening at the course is something I’m very much looking forward to.’'

Faith will bring hits old and new to her Carlisle performance.

She returned to the charts in 2017 with ‘The Architect’, following the huge success of her 2014 album, ‘A Perfect Contradiction’, which spent 29 weeks in the Top 10 Album Chart, 66 weeks in the Top 40, and 100 weeks in the Top 200.

The new album is currently on course to become her fourth double platinum album in a row – which would make her the first British woman in chart history to achieve this incredible feat.

As at home live on stage as she is in the studio, Faith's Carlisle gig will be one of the highlights of the summer season.

Geraldine McKay, general manager at Carlisle Racecourse, said: "We're all extremely excited to welcome Paloma Faith to the track in 2018; we all believe she is a fantastic performer and cannot wait to see her show."

The Jockey Club Live is recognised as a leading promoter on the UK live music scene.

Tickets for Paloma's show will be on sale at 8am on Friday February 2 via thejockeyclublive.co.uk, with a presale available to customers at 8am on Wednesday January 31.
