A 36-year-old man who was reported missing has been found safe and well.
Police issued an appeal last night saying they were highly concerned for the welfare of David Killen, from the Woodhouse area of Whitehaven.
He was last seen on Tuesday evening.
Officers asked for assistance from the coastguard in the search, and were joined by Whitehaven and Maryport Coastguard Rescue Teams.
A coastguard spokesman said: "Due to the terrain and fading light, we requested the immediate launch of St Bees RNLI to conduct a coastal search between Fleswick and Whitehaven, while Coastguard teams conducted a search of clifftop paths and shoreline areas.
"Search teams and lifeboat crew located a number of people along the cliff paths and confirmed these weren't the missing person."
Police said the man was located overnight and thanked everyone for their help with the appeal.
