A man accused of threatening a Carlisle city centre store detective with a knife is to stand trial later this year.
Aaron Duncan, 29, faced one charge when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court this morning.
Duncan denied one charge which alleges that he threatened a male with an offensive weapon on August 25.
It is alleged he had a knife with a four-inch blade, and that he "unlawfully and intentionally threatened" the man - a store detective - outside an English Street shop in Carlisle city centre; and further alleges there was an "immediate risk of serious harm" to that man.
A trial, estimated to last up to one day, is set to be held at the crown court in the week of November 12.
In the meantime Duncan, of Colville Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle, was granted bail by Judge Peter Davies.
