A man was left with a fractured vertebra, a cut to his face and bruising to his face and body after an assault in Silloth.

The 31-year-old was walking through the cut from Petteril Terrace towards Waver Street on Thursday, September 13 when he was approached by another man.

Cumbria police say the pair had a brief verbal altercation before the second man physically assaulted the victim.

The incident, which happened between 6.15pm and 6.30pm, left the injured man with a broken vertebra at the base of his spine, a cut above his right eye, and bruising to his face and body.

The attacker is described as white, in his early 20s, about 6ft and of medium build with dark hair and facial hair. He may have been wearing a grey tracksuit.
