Thomas Dempsey was violent towards police
A man who tried to headbutt a police officer has been sent to prison.
Thomas Stuart Dempsey, 28, of Milburn Street, Workington, appeared before District Judge Gerald Chalk at West Cumbria Magistrates Court on Friday.
He admitted behaving violently towards officers at Workington police station.
The court heard he had tried to headbutt a police inspector and fought with other officers in the incident on July 28.
Dempsey was jailed for 14 days and told to pay £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.
