Emergency services are dealing with a sticky situation - after a lorry shed its load of glue on an M6 slip road.
Cumbria Police closed the entry slip to the motorway at junction 44 and one lane of the northbound carriageway.
A spokesman said: "A wagon carrying glue has shed its load down the slip road causing major issues.
"Drivers are asked to find an alternative junction to join the motorway for now. Highways and fire are assisting."
Police were called at 4.50pm today following the discovery of large amounts of PVA glue leaking from a lorry on the slip road.
Cumbria Constabulary have anticipated that their involvement at the scene will conclude around 8.20pm.
The force spokesman added: "There is no risk to the public and motorists are advised to avoid the area while work is ongoing to deal with the incident.
