Cumbria's India Willoughby has been setting the record straight on her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house - and responded to claims she's the "most hated" housemate ever.

Appearing on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff this morning, the journalist who became the country's first transgender newsreader, has endured a tumultuous time in the house and was evicted following a public vote on Friday.

Speaking on Big Brother's Bit on the Side aftershow following her eviction India, 52, was asked whether she had achieved what she had set out to do by entering the house. In response, the self-confessed superfan said "at the very least I've started a debate".

The Wright Stuff host Matthew Wright put the "most hated" moniker to India who said: "That's quite an accolade considering some of the people that have been in the Big Brother house.

"I thought I was quite Bambi-esque."

India opened up about her time on the show and how she clashes with fellow housemates.

In particular, she had some harsh words for journalist Rachel Johnson, whose father Stanley was sitting just a few feet away on The Wright Stuff panel.

India said: "The architect of my demise was sadly your daughter. Within an hour or so of going in the house I was being misgendered left, right and centre.

"I started off politely pointing out the reasons why that was inappropriate but it continued."

She continued: "There was this undercurrent and I felt from the start because of what Rachel, the misgendering, and Ann it sorted of marked me out as the runt of the litter and made me a little bit different.

"If you're continually being questioned about whether you're he or him you are going to reaffirm your gender, you are going to point out that it's not appropriate."

During the show India, a former ITV Border newsreader and Loose Women panelist, shocked the audience by appearing on camera topless.

She said she was egged on by fellow contestants.

"Having told her repeatedly that I'm a she I'm a woman and what have you. I just got tired of verbally doing it, I just thought you know what I'm going to let my body speak for itself."

Bookmakers had India as odds on favourite to be evicted. This series of the show is celebrating "Year of the Woman".
