MATT Baker and Team Rickshaw will be riding through Carlisle this morning as part of a huge fundraising effort for Children in Need.

The team are due to leave Penrith - where they arrived for a live broadcast last night - at 5.30am tomorrow as they head for Hawick for the seventh day of the challenge. They are due to come through Carlisle at about 9am.

The route will take them past the Black Lion at Durdar, along Durdar Road, past Carlisle Racecourse and Hammonds Pond.

It will carry on along Blackwell Road and Currock Road to James Street and along Victoria Viaduct to Lowther Street.

The team will then pedal to Hardwicke Circus and up Brampton Road to Houghton before heading out to Kirklinton along some of the county's quieter roads.

The One Show is encouraging fans to turn out along the route to cheer them along.

Matt said: "Seeing everyone out on the road on the way supporting us also really spurs Team Rickshaw along and gives us the motivation to keep pedaling."
