All of Cumbria's candidates for the upcoming General Election have now been announced.

Each district council published the list for its constituency this afternoon, following the deadline for registration.

All of the previous sitting MPs will stand again, and many candidates have already launched their campaigns.

The Green Party had already announced it had decided not to field candidates in three marginal constituencies - Carlisle, Copeland and Workington - as part of national efforts to prevent a Conservative landslide on June 8.

It will however battle for votes in Barrow, also a marginal seat, and historic Tory stronghold Penrith and the Border.

Ukip are fielding candidates in all but Westmorland and Lonsdale, where Liberal Democrat leader will go up against an independent known only as Mr Fish Finger.
