Fraud probe fiancée in second police quiz
A woman at the centre of an alleged £13,000 stag do con is also being investigated by police for a separate fraud claim.
Rachel Doran, 29, made national headlines following claims by her groom-to be Chris Mahone that he and his friends were duped out of the cash for the trip to Ibiza.
She was arrested on Monday on suspicion of fraud by false representation. She has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
It has also emerged that Miss Doran was also held by police last month following a separate fraud allegation.
Today, a Cumbria police spokesman said: "Cumbria Constabulary can confirm that a 29-year-old woman from Cleator Moor was arrested on August 3 on suspicion of fraud.
"This followed a report earlier that day regarding the fraudulent use of a credit card days earlier.
"The woman was released under investigation. Enquiries continue."
Details of the alleged stag do con came to light after Mr Mahone, 27, posted on social media last week.
He had been due to fly out to Ibiza for his stag do with 29 of his friends - who had each stumped up almost £450 to pay for the four-day trip.
But it is reported that, when the Sellafield worker and his stags turned up at Leeds airport last Thursday for their early morning flight, they were told by airline staff that their tickets were fakes.
A Cumbria Police spokesman confirmed: "A 29-year-old woman, from Cleator Moor, was arrested on Monday evening on suspicion of fraud by false representation. She has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue."
