Here's everything you need to know about services during this festive season in Allerdale.

Bin collection

Christmas: During the week commencing Monday, December 25, refuse, paper and purple bag collections will take place two days later than normal. For example, collections due on Christmas Day will instead be taken on Wednesday, December 27 and Friday collections will take place on Sunday, December 31.

New year: For the week commencing Monday January 1, collections will be picked up one day later than normal. For example, collections due on the Monday will take place on Tuesday, January 2 and Friday collections will take place on Saturday, January 6.

If you would like your real or artificial Christmas tree collected, place it next to your general waste on your specified collection day.

Household Waste Recycling Centres will all be closing at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Allerdale council offices opening times

Allerdale House in Workington and the Council’s telephone lines will be closed from 12 noon on Friday, December 22 until 8.45am on Tuesday January 2.

The Customer Contact Centres Keswick, Maryport and Wigton will close at the same time and will reopen at 9am on Tuesday January 2.

The area office in Cockermouth, which is based in the library on Main Street, will reopen at 10am on the same day.

Multi-storey car park

The multi-storey car park in Workington will close at 7pm on Sunday, December 24 and reopen at 7am on Tuesday, December 26.
