The owner of two Welsh Collies is appealing for help in finding her two dogs, believed to have been stolen from a farm in Brampton.

Eight-year-old Meg is a black and white dog, while five year-old Sprite is a black, white and tan dog.

Sprite was only returned to her owner Jane Eden in September, after she was reported missing to police.

The dog was found by a former employee of the farm in Somerset, Gloucestershire.

But Sprite is now missing for a second time, with Meg also reported stolen.

Mrs Eden said: "We are devastated.

"Why have we been targeted for a second time in such a short time?"

Sprite and Meg are believed to have gone missing in the early hours of yesterday morning, as the pair were both fed at 6pm the night before.

Mrs Eden says the gate was forced open and the police have been contacted.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 10:19am, on Sunday, 3rd December to a report of the theft of two sheep dogs.

"The dogs were reported as stolen from a farm in Brampton, Carlisle.

"Police are appealing for anyone with any information regarding the dogs whereabouts, to contact police on 101, quoting log number 74 of the 3rd December, email 101@cumbria.police.uk , or call Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 111 555."

Owner, Jane Eden also urges anyone to contact her with information on 0169773332.
