He will present a Channel 5 documentary, starting at 8pm, about the Coast to Coast walk inspired by Alfred Wainwright’s 1973 book.
Viewers will see the actor making scotch eggs in Cleator Moor after starting his journey in St Bees.
Sir Tony later enjoys a tour of an inhabited island on Derwentwater.
He will also journey through the stunning scenery of three national parks – the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Sir Tony said: “I’m bound for the north west and from there I am crossing the entire country from the west coast, starting in St Bees and travelling the near 200 miles to the east coast where my final destination is Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
“I’m not the first to embark on a coast to coast adventure but this if a first for me and I want to do something different.’’
