THE A66 in part of Cumbria is closed following a crash.
Highways England say the westbound A66 between the M6 junction 40 at Penrith and the B5288 is closed "due to a serious incident, with a response being led by Cumbria Police".
The road is expected to be closed into the evening.
Earlier it was reported that police and other emergency services were dealing with a crash involving a motorcyle near Dacre.
Diversions are in place.
Westbound traffic is heading on the M6 northbound to junction 41 before going onto the B5305 to Wigton.
They then have to head to the A595 and follow it towards Keswick.
At Bothel drivers can turn left onto the A591 and head south towards Keswick to re-join the A66.
