The coastguard was called to reports of a sailing boat with engine failure off the coast of Whitehaven in the early hours of this morning.
At 3.40am CGOC Belfast Coastguard team members deployed to vantage points to get a visual at before St Bees RNLI arrived on scene.
The RNLI took the vessel to Whitehaven Marina where it was met by the coastguard and safety checks were carried out.
