Police in Carlisle are investigating an attack carried out by a gang of around seven males, who fled the scene.
The assault, causing actual bodily harm, happened in the area of Stanhope Road, off Wigton Road.
It took place last Wednesday, September 19, at around 10pm, leaving the victim with back and facial injuries.
Police say that the group left the scene - which is largely residential - heading towards the Wigton Road and Granville Road area.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
