OLYMPIC swimmer Hannah Miley has been in Carlisle today, setting runners on their way at the weekly parkrun event.

She is just one of 100 athletes who has teamed up with parkrun UK to encourage people up and down the country to get active.

Hannah, who is also a two-time Commonwealth Games Champion, representing Scotland, took on the role of 'tail walker' - finishing last and encouraging other participants along the way.

She said: "I'm funded by the National Lottery myself, so I'm grateful to the public for supporting me in that way.

"Without backing from the National Lottery and UK Sport, I wouldn't be where I am now.

"It's great to be able to come down here and meet people and see everyone out running and enjoying themselves."
