A "caring" west Cumbrian school community has raised more than £1,000 for the Park family's triplets.
A host of events at St James' Infants, in Whitehaven, has raised the cash that has been donated to dad Steven Park and one-year-old triplets Poppie, Mollie and Evelyn, who tragically lost their wife and mum Rachel just after Christmas.
Included in the fundraising campaign was a Valentine's disco, school fair, and fancy dress day, which combined to raise £1,030.
Headteacher Jill Eaton says the school was moved to act after the children were shocked by Mrs Park's tragic death.
She said: "The children came back after Christmas and wanted to do something to help; that's the kind of caring children we have here.
"So the school council worked with the staff and the pupils to come up with ideas and the hold the events that has raised this wonderful total.
"We are so grateful to our parents for supporting the fundraising appeal, and we are so proud of our children for wanting to help others."
The fundraising campaign has achieved a worldwide response since it was launched following Mrs Park’s tragic death at her Bransty home on December 27.
It currently stands at over £35,000.
