Blindfolded boxers will be the highlight of an event to raise money for charity.

Maryport entreperneur, Adrian Kirkbride has organised the event at the Grasslot Welfare Club on August 12.

The profits will go to Jack's Journey, the charity set up by the Gibson family in Flimby after their little boy was diagnosed with cancer.

The charity helps other families of sick children.

Homecoming 2 will include a lively fight card involving local boxers against tough and, as always, testing opponents from Scotland and the North East.

The headliner bout will be a much wanted rematch between the two times bare knuckle boxing champion Decca Heggie who is part of team from Maryport’s Nemesis Boxing Club.

He will be defending his British Boxing Union Northern Area heavyweight title.

The most entertaining event, however, is likely to be the blindfold boxing.

Kieran Nash or Maryport and Grant Renney from Dearham will don headgear and blindfolds and "just go for it", Mr Kirkbride said.
